A. Yes, but Canadian Western Bank requires that all accounts be opened in person at one of our branches.

A. Yes, we provide a full range of products for personal banking. We have deposit accounts, personal loans, mortgages, RRSPs and other deposit products.

A. Like the big six banks, Canadian Western Bank is chartered as a Schedule I bank and is a member of the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC).

A. First of all, our loan losses are lower and have been for 15 years. We also target commercial loans as a heavier weighting in the portfolio and they have better yields overall. We also maintain an attractive productivity ratio, meaning our costs of operating are low.

A. Yes, Canadian Western Trust and Valiant Trust are wholly owned subsidiaries of Canadian Western Bank and are considered to be separate and distinct entities for purposes of CDIC coverage. Deposits can be booked through any Canadian Western Bank retail branch.

A. If you have lost or had your Apex card stolen, please contact your branch. If it is after hours, please call 1-888-424-3131 and leave a message. Messages will be checked regularly. Your Apex card is protected by a P.I.N. number which should always be kept confidential.
