St. Andrew's Valley Golf Club was a second location in a series of courses that the company imagined would service the Toronto area. "We had an opportunity to develop land in Aurora, and we had a certain amount of expectation as a go-to source for golf development because of our business history, he says."
Reaching an equilibrium in work-life balance
For David, golfing is in his blood and is a way life. And he wouldn't have it any other way. "It's all I've ever known, so the idea of waking up and not thinking about it is unfathomable," he quips. In many ways, it's become a definition of self for both him and his wife, who's also from the golf club business."
Although finding work-life balance can be a challenge, David and his family have found ways to make it work for them. "It's a delightful trap, and people are happy," he notes. And he credits his wife's empathy and tolerance for helping them reach that feeling of contentment and equilibrium."
