Fraud & Order: Cyber Crime Unit
In the online world, protecting your financial accounts is a shared responsibility between you and the bank: both play important roles in minimizing the success of cyber-criminals. The detectives who investigate online fraud are members of an elite squad known as the “Cyber Crime Unit.” These are their stories.
Episode 1: Account Takeover
The CCU is called to the crime scene where a business owner has been experiencing strange activities in their email and bank accounts. The detectives determine the business owner is a victim of Account Takeover Fraud.
Episode 2: Something Phishy's Going On
The CCU investigates when a business owner experiences some weird banking activity. They dig in to find out she has fallen for a phishing scam.
Episode 3: Cryptic Caller
After a woman can’t access her crypto investment, the CCU is called to the case. They determine she is the victim of an investment scam that began with a “wrong number” text message.
Episode 4: Big Business... Small Mistake
A business’ computers have been hacked and they are being held for ransom. After some digging, the CCU uncovers that malware was installed on their computers.

- Describe the fraudulent incident.
- Provide any fraudulent emails or messages you received.
- If you have anti-virus or anti-spyware on your computer, providing the scan logs can be helpful.
In return we will work to immediately:
- Secure your accounts
- Assist with recovery of funds
- Co-ordinate fraud investigation including liaising with authorities when needed
